Profile Improvement Tips
Internet dating has many more advantages than personals in a newspaper.
One being that you are able to describe yourself a lot more than
in a short space amongst other singles. If you really want success
you can adapt your profile and make it more unique and striking
in order to receive more replies. Here are a few tips to improve
your profile.
Your Profile
Write interesting activities you like doing in your free time, don’t
portray yourself as a workaholic! The person reading should be able
to visualise what sort of character you are by your profile. So
if you are a romantic, give an example of what you would like to
do on a date. Be descriptive or you will seem boring. If you like
sport or music, give examples of what you like and why you like
it.
Always be honest about what you are looking for. If you are looking
for a relationship, state you are looking for love and more. That
way you will receive replies from people who are looking for the
same thing. If you are looking for a fling or just for some fun,
don’t describe your personality too much, but make sure that people
viewing your profile know what they are getting into with you.
Your Photo
Try to pick a photo that shows a bit about your personality. If you like to travel, show a picture of you in an exotic location. Try and have a comfortable setting for your picture and pose by showing your best features, for example if you have a nice smile, show it in your photo. If you have nice eyes accentuate them by using makeup or looking straight into the camera.
Remember:
- Only mention the most important aspects of your character. Further details can be told when interaction starts with him/her.
- The tone of your profile should be light-hearted. Sound cheerful in your words; it will attract more people! Tell a joke or be witty but not too over sarcastic.
- Keep an air of mystery about you. It will keep readers guessing and wanting to know more.
- Be eye-catching! Your profile will appear along many profiles so an interesting and unique profile header will make you stand out from the crowd.
- Ensure your grammer and spelling is correct. If you are serious, you want your profile to look like you have spent time writing it. Also, make sure you are clear with what you are saying so it does not have a double meaning. Avoid using abbreviations, as not all readers will be able to understand.
- Be truthful. No matter how long you lie for, the truth will eventually come out and may ruin your chances of finding a suitable partner.
